Used Cubicles – Tips to Reduce Air Pollution in Your Office Cubicle

Used Cubicles

Most people spend the majority of their lives in cramped workspaces like used cubicles. If you are spending a lot of time at your workplace, it is very important that you set up a healthy environment to work in.

However, most of the time, work environments are far from healthy and you end up getting sick more often than you should. This can be attributed to a lack of air circulation, chemicals in the air and poor or inefficient lighting. All this leads to air pollution within your cubicle. Here are few tips to curb the effects of air pollution in your office.

Add Green Plants to your Office

The cubicle workspace makes the office environment crowded and hampers the quality of air. So add green plants to your office to improve the air quality in and around cubicles. These green plants remove harmful toxins from the air and make the air healthy around you. Some plants that you could use in used cubicles include aloe vera, ficus and English Ivy. Also, the presence of green plants in your office environment gives a sense of freshness to your workspace.

Have a Proper Ventilation System in Place

The key to having good quality air in your office is to improve the HVAC system in your office. This system is crucial to ventilation in your office environment. If there is proper inflow of fresh air into your office, then the pollutants will be diluted and the air quality will be considerably improved. Also, keep the windows of your office open so that there is cross ventilation and proper inflow and outflow of air.

Install an Air Purifier

You might be shocked if you learned about the kind of air pollutants that are present in used cubicles. Installation of an electric purifier in your office will alert you about the pollutants that are present in the indoor air. Common pollutants include carbon dioxide, chemicals and ozone emitted by office machinery. You can conduct tests to identify the source of these pollutants and then place portable air purifiers accordingly to purify the air.

Have a Smoking Zone Outside

Most offices have a designated smoking zone that is present within the premises of the office. However, by having a smoking zone within the office, you are allowing smoke pollutants to infiltrate the office environment. So have a smoking zone away from the main office area so that non-smokers and fellow workers are not affected by the presence of toxins.

Have Low Cubicle Walls

The cubicle setup has become immensely popular in offices and most offices are adopting the cubicle approach to set up their offices. If your office has used cubicles, then ensure that the cubicle environment isn’t too cramped and the walls of the cubicle are at a low height.

Having low cubicle walls ensures that there is ample circulation of air among all the cubicles. You could also place fans so that the air circulation improves considerably in the cubicle environment. Used Cubicles.
